Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I am staying with relatives and found out one of them is selling drugs. If the house is raided can the cops take my car, money, and valuables under Florida seizure laws? I have nothing to do with it and don't even do drugs at all, but what stops them from just saying I was involved so they can take my things?

The police may seize your vehicle but you would have the right to challenge the seizure in a hearing at a later time. You would have to assert your right to the hearing within 30 days after the seizure. While you would likely win the hearing if you could prove that you were a mere guest and had nothing to do with the narcotics activities, you would still have to wait until after the hearing to get your property back. Plus, the police would likely arrest and charge you too.
