Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Violation of Probation

my fiance was on probation in broward county for three yrs. he has until 12/2005 to be completed. in july while on vacation in polk county fl, he was involved in a fight. he plead out to time served (60 days)on 9/12/05. we now are waiting for him to be transported to broward. my question is what is the fastest way to get this done and do they have a set amount of time to do this? will polk county be required to release him if broward hasnt picked him up within this time frame. i would greatly appreciate any advise, as i am not at all experienced in this type of thing. i finances are some what limited due to his arrest.

Re: Violation of Probation

I am not aware of a time limit, but I would imagine it would be as long asa he could serve in jail on the underlying charge. You don't say which felony it was, but for say a third degree felony it would 5 years. It wont take 5 years, but it could take 30 days based on experience. Your lawyer can write an order to transport to speed it up.
