Legal Question in DUI Law in Florida

The state of Florida has tagged my driver's license with an outstanding DWI from North Carolina, under the name Gregory ROY Pace, and my middle name is RAY. Even though the names do not match, they refuse to take it off unless they get clearance from N.C. N.C. will not give clearance unless they get clearance from the Court.

In web conversations with the N.C. DOT, I gave my phone number for a hearing officer to contact me. In conversations with the Buncombe County, N.C. Clerk of Court, I've been told they do not have mug shot or fingerprints for comparison which would allow me to prove that I'm not the one that was arrested. Instead, they transferred me to the DA's office. In speaking with them, I learned they now have my phone number tagged to those records.

I will not be able to renew my license until this gets resolved, however, I keep getting sent through the spirals.

Please advise what my best course of action could be. I cannot afford an attorney, nor can I afford a trip to N.C. to get this straightened out.

Thank You.

Unfortunately, you've already given your two best options. Go there and take care of it yourself, or hire an attorney to do it for you.
