Legal Question in Elder Law in Florida

does having a trust protect your money to get medicad

IF you have a REVOCABLE trust and you need to go to a nursing home in the state of Florida... will the govt say because they will view it as real money, not protected and you will have to spend it all before you can get Medicad to pay for the nursing home? WOuld it be protected if you had a IRREVOCABLE Trust?
