Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Adoption

Spouse and I have been trying to adopt this child for two years. The child is in Foster care and the parents rights have been severed recently. During this time we have grown fond of the child, however, our marriage is not strong and we have agreed upon divorce. Can the foster parents adopt if we don't and would they have to follow all procedures health physical, etc. The husband has--name removed--bad back. Would this stop them from being able to adopt? If so would they foster parents receive notification of the next canidiate if we say we don't want the child? If so what information would be provided to the foster parents of the canidate ?

Re: Adoption

There is no order of preference in adoptions; nor is there any guarantee that a specific person/persons will be able to adopt! Everyobe who is interested has the same footing. Information is not public information so people will know only what they are legally entitled to know.

A physical handicap is non-disqualifying for the most part.
