Alimony modification

If permament alimony is awarded,in the state of FL, how often canyou put in for modification of theamount paid to a person? I have271/2 yrs invested.

Increases in alimony are extremely rare, and can only occur in very limited circumstances, such as where alimony was reduced because of a payor's previous inability to pay but now the inability no longer exists.

Alimony reduction can occur when there is a substantial change in circumstances, such as where the payor's income is reduced to the point where he or she can no longer afford to pay or where the payee no longer needs the income to maintain the lifestyle of the marriage.
