Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I was caught cheating on wife. Emails from 4 years

Married 13 years, own home, no kids, no debt, minimum

savings. have large student loan that was accrued during

marriage.

I am on the road a lot. after being frustrated with a

marriage for years, I strayed - 3 or 4 times. No diseases.

Over the last 3 years I had been ''seeing'' another woman

regularly. Almost all communication done by messenger. I

had told her everything; including infidelity stories. Long

story short, wife and I decided to attempt to make our

relationship work. She did not know or suspect any

infidelity. I gave up girl ''2''. Girl ''2'' got jealous, and

called wife. Also, she had saved all 3 years of emails and

messages, which clearly document my infidelities. She sent

them all to wife. Thats the meat of where I am now.

I have not spoken to her since she found out about the

infidelities. No reconciling now. I have moved out. She

does not know where I am. My questions are these:

Since student loan was incurred during marriage, is it

divisible?

I am willing to give her all the house assets. Minus my

wardrobe. If she agrees to these terms, what would an

attorney for divorce end up costing me? What shall I do from here?

Go talk to your wife. Before you get attorneys involved, verfy that you can not save your marriage.

If the marriage is over, get an attorney. Talk to an attorney before you start making deals over assets and debts...you are probably not recognizing all of your assests (retirement funds, business equity, etc.) You don't know where you stand on alimony-- can she support herself?; is she entitled to spousal support from the husband that broke the marriage, possibly expended marital assets on an extramarital affair and then abandoned the marital home?

Your student loan debt will probably be entirely yours since she will no longer be benefitting from the education you financed with the loan, but that may be the least of your problems.

You should expect to pay $3-10K as a retainer depending on the attorney, but your total cost will depend on how simple or complicated the matter becomes.
