This response is intended for informational and educational purposes only. Sound legal advice can only be given after a full review of your case and all surrounding issues.

It is my strong recommendation that all custody, visitation and child support agreements be reduced to writing and adopted as part of a Court Order. You should probably have an attorney file a petition to have the Court determine visitation and child support. That can be a painful process, but not as painful as annual or even monthly demands from your childs mother. If you do not get a judicial order outlining everybodys rights and obligations, this issue is likely to repeat itself over and over until the child is finished with college. When you sit down with an attorney, you should bring documentation showing financial payments made in the past, your childs residential history (when did she move to Florida?), and your financial information. Feel welcome to contact my office for a full consultation.
