Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Do we need a new child support order?

My husband and I are divorcing but we already have an existing court order for child support. Do we have to have support revisited, or can we have the old order replaced with the new one? We want to do the divorce ourselves since we agree on everything. I just don't know what to do about the child support. We want the same amount as before, but want the arrearages forgiven.

Re: Do we need a new child support order?

You are not required to have support revisited. You can just leave the old order in place. You may want to put something in your divorce settlement that you intend to keep the old order in place, and that all arrearages are waived to date.
