What does the divorce decree say? If you are to provide both insurance and support, you may not be able to get it reduced. The agreement should have anticipated this, or, maybe, look for more beneficial insurnce.

Re: child support reduction

First, you need to speak with her mother about this and make sure it is something you both agree to. Second, you need to rerun the child support calculation to see what the difference would be.

If the difference is big enough, then you will meet the burden for a substantial change in circumstances that would warrant a change in child support.

This is relatively easy - but if the mother will agree to it, than it will be even easier. You will just need to file the appropriate paperwork with the court and attend a short hearing to have an amended child support order/final judgment entered.

If you have no idea what I am talking about, then you should probably talk to an attorney about handling this for you.

Re: child support reduction

You may be able to file a Petition for Modification and have your child support reduced. Florida Child Support guidelines which include the health insurance would have to indicate your child support obligation would reduce by 15% or $50 in order for a reduction to occur.
