Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

my daughter has a lawyer, pd the retainer fee, is paying on her balance for lawyers services for the mediation hearing. Now the case is probably going to court and lawyer wants a 2nd retainer to continue with the case going to court. Can the lawyer do this?

If the case had been resolved after mediation, the result would have benefited the client. Since the case is going forward, requiring more time and costs, another retainer fee is reasonable.
