Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

DCF came to my home. They sent me to take an assestment for taking a few prescription pills that were not prescribed to me. They told me to agree on thier recommendation or they could take away my daughter. I never thought in a million years they would suggest I go into rehap for 2 months. I was put on the spot to agree and sign. Can i now re-tract what I agreed to and fight them in court? I was never given my rights. My daughter is 2 1/2 and needs her mommy,.Please help. What kind of attorney should I obtain?

It doesn't matter that DCF didn't read you your rights. They don't have to. But you can retract what you agreed to and fight your case. Think about whether this is what you want to do, though. Why were you taking pills that weren't prescribed to you? Maybe you do need treatment. Your daughter needs her mommy, but more importantly, she needs her mommy to be drug-free. Your case is very, very serious. You could lose custody of your daughter forever to foster case. But you are thinking correctly: get a lawyer. You need to speak to a lawyer who handles dependency cases. Many family lawyers handle these kinds of cases.
