Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

divorce- recovering monies spent on education

am I able to recover money I spent on my wife's 6 yr. education. We are now beginning a divorce and she worked only part time during her schooling. I worked 2 jobs to pay for her school and support the family during this time, beginning 10 years ago. She began earning more than me as of 2 years ago. Now, after the divorce she will earn more than I will and as I will retain custody of our children our lifestyle will go down while hers will go up due to her education.

Re: divorce- recovering monies spent on education

You probably can't receive money back for the college education you paid for, though some appellate courts have allowed it in very rare circumstances. However, you may be entitled to an extra portion of the split of your assets or you may get alimony from her.
