Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Divorce/wedding ring

When getting a divorce... do we each keep our rings? I have heard that by law the rings are considered a gift so they will be given to each of us. But then I have heard that if the marriage is over each person must give back the rings. Can you please clarify for me?

In a divorce, each party is entitled to keep his or her ring if they want to. The ring is a gift from the other party and gifts are generally not able to be taken back if a marriage fails.
