Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

hello,

i have a 2 year old son and his biological father has never seen him. I have filed for child support. his father has told me that he wants a dna test and the local child support enforcement in my city needs to establish paternty before issuing a child support order. If i can get his father to voulentarily give up his rights then can the man who has been in my sons life that he knows as daddy legally adopt him as his own without me giving up my rights as his legal mother?

Hello: Yes, you can ask the bio. father to relinquish his parental rights...he would not have to pay child support. If another man adopts the child, it does not affect your time with the child. 'Hope this helps. Tom Rosenblum
