Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have been married for almost 13 years but it is coming to an end. Our children are 20 and 15. We aren't fighting but I want to know what I'm entitled to financially. He makes $150K a year where I make barely $20K. The house of course we owe $216K but in this market isn't worth that. We have retirement that is in his name with me as beneficiary. The 15 yr old is from his previous marriage so her mother has custody..the 20 yr old is from my previous marriage and lives away at college and we livfe in the state of Florida.

Thank you for your guidance.

Florida is an equitable distrobution state. The word "equitable" is often misinterpreted to mean equal. That is rarely the case. The issue as to what you are entitled to is extremely fact sensitive and the facts surrounding your situation will need to be examined prior to answering your question. You will also have your 15 year old's entitlements to deal with. You will need a good attorney to help you answer your questions.

I hope this helps and good luck,

Dan
