The Baker-Acted person will be evaluated by a psychiatrist to determine if he or she should be involuntarily held. If the evaluator thinks he or she should be held, the person is entitled to a hearing within 72 hours to determine if the "hold" is lawful, essentially by determining if the person presents a danger to him or herself or others.
