ring
who gets the wedding ring in a divorce. i gave my son a family heirloom half karat to put in the center of her ring..can he at least get that half karat back if not the entire ring it was bought before they were married

A wedding ring (unlike an engagement ring, which stays with the wife) is considered marital property, so the ring would be distributed like any other property. If he wants it, he'll have to give up something of equal value to her.
