Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My son is 25 yrs old he wants to legally change his last name to his step fathers last name since that is the man that raised him. He is recently married and has a 18 month okd son. When he does his name change will that change his son's name as well

Not automatically. They will need to go through a similar process to legally change the child's name too.
