Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Where do I stand as a custodial parent?

My ex has the idea of trying to get our 12 yr daughter to live with him in another state. He is a 3x convicted felon, fled the state with a CS warrant, has a great deal of back CS still owed with no sign of paying, pays CS whenever CS catches up with him, calls once maybe twice a month if that sometimes, hasn't seen her in 2 yrs(and used to live up until March 08, an hour away). I'm needing to know where I stand if he decides to petition for her. I'm remarried, own my own home,we both work good stable jobs,no problems with child(school,drugs,abuse,etc..) He's full of wind and I like to stay ahead and be kept informed on what could happen and where I am in all this. Thank you.

I doubt, given what you've said, that the judge would give custody to your ex. Is there a child custody order out there at this time? I would probably lay low, and if he does petition the court, arm yourself with an attorney.

I am betting that he is full of hot air.
