Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

getting my stepchild out

my step child is an extremely difficult child, and we want her to go to her fathers mothers house but the father is currently in jail, and the grandmother has stated that she doesnt want her there. The child is currently a runaway. We are at our wits end, and have exhausted all possible solutions that are feasable as far as our finacial limitations are concerned. Are there any state or government funded residential places that she could go to, or can we just drop her and her stuff off at her grandmothers and leave? Please help.

Re: getting my stepchild out

Child abandonment is not a good idea -- actually, its a felony. The Child's grandparents have no legal obligation to care for the child. His or her mother and father do have such an obligation. Good luck, but whatever you do, don't just drop her and her belongings off on someone's doorstep.
