Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I am a transgender mother who lives in Florida, My wife is a natal female who lives in Michigan. We have to children, 17 months old and five months old. That being said if we get a divorce and start doing custody battles will the courts allow us to seperate the children one in Michigan and one in Florida, or will they pick the parent that has a good job, good home.

Courts are very reluctant to separate siblings. Having a good job and a good home are certainly two of the things a court will consider in determining which parent should have a greater time share with the children. There are many other factors, though, that a judge will look at in determining what is in the best interest of the children. You can find a list of some of these factors in chapter 61 of the Florida statutes. A better idea would be to consult a Florida family law attorney.
