Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My wife is trying to move out. The rental places all want proof that she can pay 3 times the rent. My wife has been a stay at home mom and finally got a job. She says she needs a letter from that says I will help her pay her rent. The letter can also state what I will pay in child support. We share a bank account my money is her money. I'm in the military and about to retire so my finance will be going down. My life doesn't want the letter dated till I retire. The child support letter will be based on current salary, but it's going to drop drastically plus she has access to the bank account for the children and her needs. How do I write this letter, because I know it will be legally binding?

If your wife is leaving and you are divorcing, then I suggest you file the divorce papers and never mind writing such a letter. I doubt that the landlord will accept that anyway. She needs to pay what is requested which would seem to me to be a lot less of a problem than nailing yourself to the wall. I don't know of any rental company that asks for 3 x the rent. Usually they ask for first and last month rent in advance and a security deposit. Give her the money for the relocation and keep your finances out of it until you have to disclose to the court for a calculation on child support. It is not always what it seems. Her income will also count as to child support along with yours.
Write the letter if you want to guarantee that you will pay alimony for the rest of your life.
