Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida

Recently I filed for FMLA due to elderly father having eye surgeries over a 6 month period. I will need to be the driver in all cases. The doctor signed and stated eye surgery on the form. Human Resources has denied my request because they want to know what kind of eye surgery. Do I have to state the type of surgery, I feel this is private.

Yes -- they need to determine whether this is a legitimate FMLA situation.
