Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I have a very colorful "past" and since 1995, I have gone through therapy and made ammends where possible as well as am involved in college to obtain my BSW, a mentor for addicted persons, work full time in a homeless shelter and working toward my Florida Certification in addiction counseling and am a notary of the State of Florida. My life has changed 100% and am mow receiving threats by a family member to expose my life as it was from 1975 through 1994. Some of this would be extremely embarrassing for me as the person refers to graphic photos of a sexual nature. This person also threatens to contact co workers, agencies, college, and so on of my past. As these events have been so many years ago and my life change over the past 12 years, is there any legal actions I would be able to move forward with?

Sincerely,

Barbara Dixon

The threat to expose things as you describe may be extorsion. The question first would be what they are threatening to do if you don't do what? Some would depend on what they are threatening to do and what would be exposed if they did and how they came to access the information. I'd need more info to comment more. Shoot me an e-mail with additional information if you wish to pursue this or need more information.
