Compelling testimony

How can you compel testimony from an expert in another country; i.e., Canada? Car accident occurred in Florida, but victim was a Canadian citizen and was treating by physicians in Canada. Thanks

It is a real pain in the north side of a south facing donkey -- if you get my meaning. Usually, it involves starting a case up there, hiring Canadian counsel to create a subpoena there to force testimony. It can be an expoensive process. See if you can contact and sweet talk them into appearing for a deposition at a time and place convenient to them.
