My husband died in 2008, and my insurance refuse to pay on my death policy is there anything that can be done about this?

Depending on the reason why they did not pay, there may be. For example, I once had a case where the husband died between the time he signed the application and the policy was issued. The insurance company denied coverage, we sued them and we settled for a significant amount of money at mediation. So, if they feel they have exposure, they may settle. You would have to have made a timely claim on the policy and he or you would have had to comply substantially with policy requirements. I suggest you consult with an attorney asap as the statute of limitations may be close to running.
