Can I sue a moving company for lying, and breaking a verbal contract.

Yes, depending on facts. Moving companies are controlled (and protected) by federal law so it will be an uphill climb. They know claimants will drop out due to the difficult legal struggle so you have to be able to hang in there. Given the cost of litigation, the claim must be worth the many thousands in legal costs.
