Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

payment of award from a civil suit

I am a college student, so I have no money... I lost a civil lawsuit last week for over $10 million. I live in Florida and I wanted to know if I moved to another state or country could the court seize my property. How do I avoid this? Also, would setting up off shore businesses be the best way to prevent the court from seizing any future assets?

You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. A final judgment can be domesticated in another state. As a result, your property can be seized anywhere in the United States. Your best bet is to file bankruptcy to avoid the judgment. Your credit will be damaged, but the judgment has already seen to that.
