Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

scam artist?

my mom went to a website for ''psychic'' advice. This lady convinced her to send 1600 dollars, and keeps telling my mom to ''call back tomorrow''. My mom has asked for her money back because it is ''guaranteed'' on the website. This lady just keeps saying, ''give me a couple more days'', call me back tomorrow. Does my mom have some legal recourse to get her money back?

Re: scam artist?

She can file a claim in small claims court. That is probably her only avenue. She may not get anything, though. This sure sounds like a scam to me.

She can sue the psychic to get the money back in small claims court or hire an attorney to help her do it in district court. If you need help, contact my office. Whether your mom gets her money back depends on whether the psychic has any money. You might want to contact the psychic and see how the case turns out. In the meantime, turn off your mom's phone or internet so she doesn't do this again.
