Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

stolen car

My son's care was stolen and recovered. He was told on Friday that his car was taken to an impond lot and that he could see it ob Monday as the lot was closed until then. He went there on Mondat to find that it was not an impound lot but a regular place where cars were towed. The car was not driveable. He was told he had to pay over $600 to get it out and if he did not that his license would be suspended. He was told this by person at the lot, not police rep. He was never told of any charges before. My son is the victimehere. He has no car and cannot get to work or to college. Why should he have to pay? Legal advice please.

Re: stolen car

do you have insurance, it part of the claim. Yo are liable for towing and storage if you don't have insurance.
