Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida

30-Hour Work Week-Health Care Eligibility

I'm moving from a 40 hour/week job in Texas, to a 30-hour/week job in Florida. Here in Texas I get health benifits but in Miami I will not be provided with the company health insurance plan. The Human Resources department in Lubbock tells me that as long as I'm working at least 30 hours a week in Texas, I'm considered full time and the employer is required to offer me health care. Is this requirement/law the same in Florida? Should I legally be getting/offered health insurance at this new 30 hour/week job? Thank you for any clarification.

I would need more information to evaluate your case. You may have a right to health care from your Florida employer. I look forward to hearing from you again.
