Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Can my landlord move me when they want?

I live in a student apartment complex in a college town. I have the apartment to myself since the roommates they had assigned me moved out. It's all individual leases. But now the office wants to move me into a different unit because they want to move 3 boys into mine. Are they allowed to move me whenever they want?

It depends on what your lease says.

It does depend on your lease, and many times leases such as yours include a provision for this. I would also review the lease to see if it provides for any compensation to you for the inconvenience of the move.

I am in Tallahassee, if you want me to review the lease let me know.
