Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Statute of Limitations

How much time does a landlord have to make a claim againtst a previous tenant? I moved out of an apartment in December 2007 and in March 2008 I received a letter claiming I owed $411 but did not state for what or how they assessed the figure. Do I have any recourse?
