Compensation

My wifes son served past his jail release date due to an error by the state attorneys office (Broward County,Fl.) Shoudnt he be compensated?

Perhaps -- but realistically, it depends on how long he was held and for what. If he was in jail for a DUI and they held him a week too long, a jury might compensate him. If he was in jail for rape and child pornography and they held him a year too long, I suspect that you will not find a sympathetic jury to give him any money. See the point?
