Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Florida

attorney responsibility to client

It will be a year on 3/21 since I hired my S FL attorney and not one thing has been filed to date. I had 12 witnesses from last February that filled out affadavits, but none have been contacted to date. I have tons of documentation against my ex, but none has been used yet. My ex is still in the house and I am still paying some of the bills and living with a friend since I can't afford additional housing. I have sent multiple emails and phone calls over the year without even the courtesy of a reply or apology (I have all emails saved). Deadlines were missed. Mistakes were made. I asked several times and they never have supplied me with a retainer statement. I begged him on a few different ocassions to help me but not 1 motion has been entered into the court. Now my credit is suffering and he has a ton of my money and now I can't even hire another attorney to fight the case that he agreed to take on a year ago. My life has been devastated, I can not believe how financially stable I was a year ago and how I am nearly homeless a year after I hired him. I just found out that several other of his clients had the same results and we're all going to contact the Bar. What can we do to make him either work on our case or return our fees?

Re: attorney responsibility to client

You really can't do much . . . and would you trust him to work on your case? You need to get another lawyer.
