Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Last year my father, living in Florida, was staying in a nursing / rehab home recuperating from heart issues. He had been at this facility for approximately 5-7 days when about 20 minutes after his morning medications, they allowed him to leave the facility to drive to his home a few miles away. While driving he fell asleep at the wheel, totaled his car and was taken to a local emergency room for treatment and observation. My father believes that the medications he was given made him too sleepy to drive safely, but the staff did not tell him that before he left. Does the nursing / rehab facility have any liability here?

Possibly. You need to have an expert review the records to see if the medication had that effect. See my website on medical malpractice which is very similar to nursing home negligence. see www.FL-PI-Lawyer.com
