Legal Question in Military Law in Florida

Change of Heart for Enlistment

I enlisted in the Marine Corps on June 20th of this year. I was 19 years old at the time but I have since changed my mind about wanting to go. My ship out date is December 13 but I have suffered an ankle injury that has kept me from regular training and just recently reinjured it, I fell while performing a stunt along a wall and landed on the blade of my foot. I lost the ability to walk on it for a couple weeks. Due to my inability to train properly my weight has risen from 206 (the maximum weight for my height to enlist) to around 220, I know that I need to weight 186 before I leave for boot camp. My recruiter knows of the initial injury but not this recent reinjury. I was enrolled in college until this past fall semester and having the semester off gave me the relief I needed and now I would like to go back instead of going into the Marines. I've heard that I can get out of it before I ship but I have no idea what I need to do. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Change of Heart for Enlistment

Let your recruiter know about the subsequent injury, and tell him/her that you've changed your mind about going to boot camp.
