Dog bite

if a dog is injured and recuperating. is secure and protected from others, someone is told not to touch or bother dog and they injure the dog and it bit them. without leaving a lying position. who is at fault?

The general rule of thumb is that an owner is responsible for the actions of their pets regardless of the circumstances. However, there may be mitigating factors which can offset some of the liability.

If you own the dog and are being sued, or anticipate being sued, you should notify your homeowner's insurance to file any claims. They should provide you with legal counsel if necessary.
