Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Money

When you receive a settlement due to a car accident, is the at fault driver responsible for paying for any doctor bills as well as awarding you money? Or are the doctor bills paid out of the money you get awarded?

Re: Money

Unless there is an agreement to the contrary, you are responsible for paying your doctor's bils out of the recovery that you make.

Re: Money

One size fits all as most Releases provided by insurance companies are very broad.

There are other issues as well as whether you are recieving the policy limits, if you have UM coverage etc.

You also recieve PIP insurance from your own car that pays 80% of your physician bills up to the first 10,000.00 if you have the state minimum. PIP insurance will pay even after you settle your case with an at-fault party in most cases.

Re: Money

The answer depends on whether PIP (no fault medical) coverage was available.
