Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Help with PI Attorney Procedures

I would like to know the procedures for taking a case. When a lawyer talks to a potential client initially, does he determine immediately what type of insurance coverage both parties in an accident carry at the time of the accident? If a lawyer only gets 33% of pain and suffering in fees and he finds neither party carried BI Insurance or Uninsured Motorist will he typically turn the case down or take it anyway in an auto accident case?

Re: Help with PI Attorney Procedures

They will normally do a investigation to determine if insurance coverage is present. This investigation goes further then if the two initial parties had insurance and would include the owner of the car, driver, maybe government authorities or other parties. Finally they would do an asset check if the causing party carried no insurance. Anthony Comparetto, Esq., 727-328-7900
