Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

county codes

26 yrs. ago as a single parent I erected a tin shed one foot too close to neigh. prop. line. Neigh. knew and help erect it. Didn't mind. (neighbor now deceased one yr.) New owner of one yr. complained to code enforc. Code enforc. wants me to remove or move it one ft. more from property line for compliance. Also to purchase a permit. I don't mind the permit, as I was new to state and ignor. I fear moving it will destroy it. Is there anything I can do to keep from moving it? This shed is well maintained (and my dad bought and helped erect it also). It has special meaning to me. Please help. I have 10 to comply.

Re: county codes

Hi:

You really should speak with an attorney since, once you pass your compliance date they probably will start levying fines. It sounds like you potentially have a claim for adverse possession.

Good Luck
