Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

How do I fight a illegal eviction

My girlfriend was evicted from her residency this weekend under the pretense of having ''a bad attitude''. She signed a six month lease for a room in the rentors house. She paid cash up front for the security deposit and first 4 weeks rent. While she was out of town for the weekend, the lessor contacted her and said that her belongs had been removed and were at a local hotel, and that she was not to ever return to the house. Although the landlord is going to return all of her money, I am wondering what course of action she could take to find revenge. She is a poor college student that cannot afford an attorney.

Re: How do I fight a illegal eviction

The best advice I can give your friend is to take the money and find a new place. She should consider herself fortunate that all of her money is being returned. Don't waste any energy on thinking about revenge.

This is one of those times a "legal" answer is best outweighed by a practical resolution. Take the refund and move on.
