Home Mortgage loan audit

I have just received a letter by UPS from AIG Claim Services, Inc. asking me to verify the orginal income that I had provided on my loan application for my home. The home is currently in foreclosure and I see no reason to cooperate. I'm not sure of what this means. It seems they may be investigating Starpointe Mortgage, LLC who submitted my loan to Bank of America. Do I have to respond to this inquiry?
