Re: What is Mortage Fraud?

A quit claim deed is when one person signs over their entire interest in a piece of property to another. The person isn't claiming they own any of the property.

I can quit claim you Raymond James Stadium without breaking the law. All I'm doing is giving you "all my interest" in Raymond James, which is nothing. It's not fraud.

Another kind of deed is a warranty deed, which is where you claim you do own the property. If I give you a warranty deed to Epcot Center, I'd be in trouble, because I don't own it.
