Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Open permits not disclosed

I purchased my home about 2 years ago. I now need to sell it and relocate out of the state. My listing agent (who was also the agent who sold me the house) notified me that there are open permits on the home from the previous owners. What relief, if any do I have? Can I sue to have the original purchase reversed since the permits were not disclosed by the sellers, i.e. previous owner takes ownership back and I get my money back? Should I go after my agent for not notifying me of this prior to my original purchase? Do I need to have the permits closed out before I sell? This is upsetting since the cost should really be to the previous owner. Thank you.

Re: Open permits not disclosed

If you purchased a title policy,as buyers should, you would have insurance for this problem.

If not, your remedy depends on your contract terms.
