Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

The state of Florida allows property owners to file for a variance. But now our small area has gotten a group together and wants to make it so we can't file for a variance. Can the local government take away our right to file for a variance?

Not that I know of, unless it would directly violate a state, federal or City Charter provision. But if the Commission can pass it, they would otherwise be able to make an exception to it.
