Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I have a tenant that left early and did a lot of damage (fist holes through walls, brought in extra pets, tore piece of laminate off counter, etc.) but everyone says I need to let it go as these things take years in court and it is not worth it. Do you agree--and would it be a small claims court type of thing for a renter problem?

The amount at issue matters. Small claims does not take long at all. You have to pay for it though and you have to be able to collect against the former tenant. If the tenant has no assets, then you are not likely to get anything and it will be a waste of time. Speak to an attorney who handles these types of matters first and decide what is best for you.
