Timeshare

I cosigned on a timeshare in with my parents on 7/04. They refused to honor cancellation letter sent to them because it was received one day after 10 day grace period. Now they filed a lawsuit against us, even though we sent them another letter forfiting the timeshare to them. What is the best way to deal /c this problem. Thanks
