Legal Question in Social Security Law in Florida

social security

I was injured 23+ months ago and filed 19 months ago for S.S. I received a denial letter about 8 months ago and have reaplied. There reason was that they thought I wouldn't be out of work for 12 continuous months. At the time of the letter I was out of work for 17 continuous months. How can I move this along more quickly? Is my retroactive pay good back to the day I was injured? I need something to happen fast because I am not making it financially. PLEASE HELP!

Re: social security

The Social Security Administration takes its own sweet time in making decisions, and wait times of months and years are not at all unusual. You can call if you like but, for the most part, all you can do is wait. If the decision is favorable, they will issue you a check covering the time period going back to the date of your application.
